My arrow is a rear
wheel drive (RWD) a normal chair lol, but could also be known as a centre wheel
drive (CWD). Confused?? well CWD just means that the back spine of the
chair is sitting right over the drive wheels (rear wheels) and also gives better
turning radius.
My arrow comes with
a standard size wheel base and a seat frame that you can adjust to fit my size.
The arrow has 3 different rear wheel positions and mine is set in the middle
which makes it a very short wheel base so anti tippers are essential.
It goes 8mph/12.8km
which is pretty fast. Having the new gearless brushless motors gives me
a very smooth drive, I can carry a drink without the chair jumping and spilling
my drink, it's very very quite all I can hear is the brake click on and off,
and I have no gear box or brushes problems anymore. The MKIV A+ control
has a LCD screen telling me if its in Drive Mode or Standby, which Drive its
in as in Drive 1, 2, 3 or 4 and also tells me how the battery condition is.
Drive 1 to 4 are my
different programs e.g.
1 = indoors
2= sports = 10km
3= wherever/spare
4= low speed/high
torque
Quad Link Retractable arm for control

Feedback on the
Gearless Brushless motors and how they are doing on my Arrow chair:
The GB motors have
been awesome because they are really smooth, give better range, more power,
and less maintenance.
I can carry a hot drink without spilling it as the chair drives smooth instead of those jerky movements other chairs had. I have had no repair maintenance done on the GB motors at all for a whole year which is wonderful.
The GB motors and
the Arrow chair to me have been the best yet for a wheelchair for
me. It's good to have
motors that don't break down every week. The GB motors are
reliable long term
from my point of view.
I feel that Invacare
have done an Awesome job with the GB motors as there is less maintenance. NZ$2000
or there abouts for 1 motor is a lot but then its worth it if no
repair is needed.
I personally recommend
these GB motors and Arrow chairs to anyone!! They are reliable.
Thanks INVACARE!!
'Group 22NF Gel Batteries'
I would also like
to say that the Group 22NF Gel batteries that are in my chair are great
too, I am getting
a huge quality life out of them.
I have forgotten to
charge my chair overnight a couple times and I have had 2 days worth of one
charge. So the batteries can last 2-3 days without a charge if needed or if
I forgot to charge
them up, but I don't do that often. I am hoping the batteries will last another
6 months but I will just have to see how they go. I have had my chair for 1
yr.!
These 'Group 22NF Gel batteries' are worth there money too.
(Tarsys) Weight Shift Basic Tilt System. Tarsys shifts its centre-of-gravity pivot point as the chair tilts. Tilts 60 degrees
